Thanks guys

He's a great pony. He'll pack you around but he'll make you work for it. He's a total character and is completely spoiled rotten (but in a good way). I was surprised at how decently the pics turned out...the last riding pictures I had before those were from last summer from when I hadn't been in lessons for a year and they were ummm...not so pretty. Then the horses I've been riding this year at school are also, um, interesting. Although, I think that having been riding difficult horses that you have to basically carry every step of the way has made jumping on a pony like Splash a thousand times easier! And hopefully if I keep working hard on me this summer, getting back on the horses at school will be easier as well.

For comparison's sake: me and the Splisheroo in Oct '07, when I'd been riding more consistently but was not as confident...barely any release with my elbows! (Although I still had some issues with that this week)

And from this winter, on the big ol' paint that takes off wayyyyyy early

Thanks again for the compliments. I know this is the "non-n00bz" board, so it means a lot coming from you all! image
So, as I've probably proclaimed before, this summer I've been riding/working at the new barn my trainer is at. Since I'll presumably be taking lots of pictures, I figure for minimum annoyance I'll just condense them into one thread and add pics as the summer wears on. And hopefully I will see some improvement. Ha. Nah, I'm actually really happy with how it's been going so far. For the past 2 years my instruction hasn't really been the greatest so I felt like I've been slipping back. Now I'm finally back in business and will hopefully be a lot more comfortable by the end of the summer.
So, these pictures are from yesterday, the 9th. I'm riding my trainer's hony Splash.

Splash says, oh noooo, are you gonna ride me?
image

Yes indeed I am. This is my game face, obvs.

We hopped over an outside line of little Xes a few times to start with
image

Then we had a little chat in the middle about where to go next
image

Then we came up the outside line going the other way (pony looks cute, I don't really know what's up with my leg)
image

Then we added a little angle
image

And then we came around to another little X (check out the manure mountain)
image

And then we did a bending line to the outside line
image

The pony is adorable, too bad I have no head (my trainer's son took the pics)
image

Splash says, that was totally not an oxer the last time!
image

Coming around to the angle one last time
image

Why yes, I can smile and grimace simultaneously. What a good pony! We ended on that.

Pony running around after his lessons we over.

Thanks for looking . Don't laugh at my baby jumps! I'll get there someday.
